Do I make a good first impression?

I probably make a better 2nd impression...but this thing says otherwise...By the way, I'm walking without crutches and doing better. Surviving the weekend as solo parent, too. Though, it isn't over yet. Not getting enough sleep, but that's actually pretty normal. I have some narcotics I could take (doc prescribed), but I'm concerned that I'd sleep through the crying baby thing and that's probably not a good plan...

You Make a Great First Impression

You can handle almost any social situation with grace, even the tricky ones.
Strangers often find you charming and interesting. You are often remembered fondly.
Even if you're not naturally outgoing, you can make conversation with anyone if you need to.

Whether you were born this way or had to work to get here, you are definitely charismatic.
You're popular and well liked. People definitely look forward to being around you.
Your social connections bring you a full and rich life. You understand how important it is to make a lasting impression.

On crutches

Haha - totally trashed my leg/hip whatever running a 5k last night. Finished the race (yeah) but could NOT walk afterwards. Drove home, though. I could do that. Tried to call my wife from my car, but she'd left the phone in the car (we don't have a home phone). So I literally hopped/crawled from the car to the door. A neighbor noticed and asked if I was OK. No, not really, but I don't know you so thanks, I'll manage. I haven't had this kind of pain in awhile (luckily). It's pretty funny to watch as I try to manage. I bought some crutches today after I took my daughter to school (hopping the whole way). Have to miss work to go see an orthopedic surgeon (one of the docs I call on). To make it all even MORE amusing, this is the weekend my wife is going to Savannah to visit a friend (on my suggestion). I encouraged her to go anyway, even though it will be a challenge to manage the two kids (the infant especially). So we'll see how it goes. I see the doctor in an hour and then have a few until I pick up the kids and hopefully make it through what will surely be a long weekend! Wish me luck...

Running

This is the photo from my last 5k race. I ran injured, but was happy with my time. I have another race next Thursday so we'll see how it goes. This race is in the evening and should have a bigger crowd. More people running helps me go faster so I hope that's the case. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. I still think I look pretty bad running (in the photo). But I guess it doesn't matter as long as I enjoy myself...

Viva Las Vegas

I have had a long week (or year, depending). So when I found out I have a 2 day meeting in Las Vegas at the Mandelay Bay, I thought I must take a few extra days and enjoy myself. I leave Saturday for a very long weekend (and much needed). I'm staying at Excalibur (a more affordable option for a solo traveler). It also only a few buildings down from the Mandelay Bay. It's been about 116 degrees this week there, so it should be interesting. But, my goal is to relax, sleep, gamble, eat, exercise and maybe catch a show. Also, I think it's a nice place to people watch...

I will have my computer, but I doubt I'll be posting. So if you have any suggestions for shows, restaurants, etc, leave them for me sooner than later. Have a great weekend!
