Strawberry picking

Just to prove that I actually did go strawberry picking earlier this season, here's little cowgirl and I (she was tired from the sun and had a belly full of berries at this point)...

This kind of reminds me of the story "Blueberries for Sal" by Robert McCloskey.

I've seen this book but never looked too closely. You're right, it's perfect for the child. Whenever we've picked berries, she eats more than she picks. At her age (3.5), she should be out in the fields earning her keep!!!

I remember my parents giving me that book when I was about six or seven. It's weird what stories stay with you. I was also able to come across "The Fire Cat", another book I remember.

I'll have to buy both next chance I get. She loves books (though she can't quite read yet). Lately, we are into Strawberry Shortcake, which is not as irritating as I thought it would be.
