Discovery Shuttle Launch

I drove out to Titusville (about a half hour) to catch a closer view of the launch tonight. Very cool colors since it was around sunset. You can see more of the photos at my flickr site:

I hope that smoke doesn't reflect their flight pattern! 8-0

Haha, I didn't know this until I moved down here, but the smoke is a curved pattern due to the shuttle going into an targeted orbit and the Earth spinning. It concerned me at first, too, but it's apparently normal. The colored smoke is due to the sunset. That was the coolest. Night launches are also great due to the entire sky lighting up with the blast-off.
