Still alive and kicking (and screaming)
Hey all - for anyone still occasionally checking this blog...
I'm doing fine in Orlando. Staying in a small (very) extended stay hotel room near University of Central Florida. I've heard there's been some crack busts here, but I have yet to see any police action. Fortunately, I'm leaving the place tomorrow for a business trip to San Francisco. I'm checking out, also. I get back friday and stay in a nicer hotel for a night - then move into a rental house in the same area that my house is being built (see photo). My wife and daughter are still in Cleveland and working on getting down here and selling our house. Unfortunately, the company my wife and I work for put a freeze on transfers the week after I received mine. So, even though there was a territory for her in this area, she could not interview for it. Hopefully, the company will still come through...we'll see very soon. In the meantime, I've adjusted to wearing dark suits in 95 degree heat pretty well. I have a nice territory that includes downtown Orlando, Melbourne, Merritt Island (on the east coast, near the Kennedy Space Center), Lakeland, Winterhaven (where the Indians have spring training) and Kissimmee/Celebration (near the theme parks). I'm enjoying it - and I have great coworkers. I've gained back much of the weight I lost due to stress...so I guess that's good...
Feel free to email me at nickjones@aol.com for more updates. My internet access is still poor. I drive to Kinkos every night after work to log in for work, but I don't get time to do much personal internet surfing...
Hope everyone is having a nice summer!
