House update/Orlando update

Well, the child, the dog and I are all in Orlando. The wife is still in Cleveland, but we're working on that. We drove 18.5 hours from Cleveland last Saturday, arriving at 2am in Orlando. The last hour, we were behind a drunk driver for about 15 miles. We (the child woke up during this part of the trip) used the OnStar to call the police since it was too scary to pass they guy (he was all over the road). OnStar put the police on the line and they said they were aware of the situation. They didn't pull him over though, and we were behind him for another 10 miles. Eventually, I waited until he was over to the far right (and not swerving). I passed him and drove the rest of the way with less stress. Nicorette started school Monday and after a few tears, she did great. She even went on a field trip to the Orlando Science center Wednesday and had a great time. Chewie weathered the trip well and has adjusted to being away from my wife. The house is so big that we can throw the ball or frisbee inside without worrying about breakage since we have very little in the house to break.

The photo is our new house that is still being built. My rental house is about 2 minutes away so we check it out about once/week...And yes, that is little Nicorette in the driveway...

Home for a quick trip

Hey all...I leave tomorrow (Friday) morning for Cleveland for a quick 1/2 day visit. Then I'm taking Nicorette and Chewbacca (the dog) down to Orlando in a rental car. Should be an interesting trip. Nicorette starts "pre-K" on Monday at her new school. We're hoping the wife will follow soon, though we haven't sold the house yet. Our company is not cooperating with us (so far) in helping us get a transfer for her. As soon as I got mine, they changed the policy. She'd actually have a better chance of getting a job with the company if she quit, moved to Orlando and tried to start from scratch. But hopefully that won't be necessary since she's been with this company for 12+ years. So Nicorette, Chewbacca and I will be driving about 1100 miles (possibly straight through). I'm hoping that the portable DVD player holds up and entertains her and that the dog is not too stressed over being away from the wife (mine, not the dog's)...
