Scary Godmother

This Halloween special has been playing on Cartoon Network (along with the sequel "The Revenge of Jimmy". Little cell phone girl has watched it/them everyday since we DVRed it. It's actually pretty good...much more fun than many of the holiday specials (whatever holiday). It's based on a comic series by the most well known female comic book artist, Jill Thompson. She's worked on Sandman, Wonder Woman, and many many more...In fact, the Scary Godmother character looks a lot like her. If you get the chance, check out the show. Here's the artist's website: Jill Thompson

A new post...

Sorry for the lack of regular posting, but work has kept me busier than normal and tired me out more than normal...It's the age (just joking)...

A few updates...

Chewbacca is doing extremely well and is basically back to normal. He is good at taking the child's food or getting food off the kitchen table if it's too close to the edge...I even think he's gained back some of his lost weight. And the doggie insurance company paid about $1500 of the over $4000 bill. We're hoping the groomer's insurance helps with the rest. Waiting on that...

I tried the mentos/soda experiment that k_sra blogged about on 10/12/2005. I'd link to her entry, but I don't know how. Just go over to my links and find her website - then go to 10/12 and click on the video link for this fun experiment. We probably looked foolish in the front yard with a fountain of diet cherry pepsi going at least 6 feet in the air (no joke). But I was amused - and that was worth the couple bucks.

I am adjusting to a new territory with my job. I have a great new manager and my territory changed where I am in Youngstown and Warren every other week. The other weeks I'm in Mentor/Willoughby and Ashtabula. No more Cleveland and Beachwood or the big hospitals. But I have a good job and can't complain (or they'll shoot me!)...That's a joke - please let me keep my job!!!

I hope to have some halloween photos up soon. We went to "Boo at the Zoo" this past Saturday and thought it was fun...Little cellphone girl went as a Barbie princess. The wife was Malificent from Sleeping Beauty, and once again, I was the Beast...So it was an interesting picture. Which is still in my camera and needs to be loaded onto my computer! Soon to come...

What are do you act?

You Are 31 Years Old

This is actually pretty good for me,
considering I'm 40...
Damn, that looks old when you stare at it...
Now, I've probably scared off the lower age
group demographic who comes to this blog.

Oh well...!

What candy are you?

Reeses Peanut Butter Cups

Very popular, one of you is not enough.

Here is a cool website that gives you information about the day you were born. You may have seen the site before, but I hadn't and thought it was cool.

On Vacation

I will be out of town from 10/6 - 10/9 so my posts will hopefully start up again on Sunday. I haven't been posting as much as I should, but hopefully that'll change soon. Working on some things that might be worth posting...More in a few days. Have a great weekend - I'll be fighting a tropical storm, I think!

Nicotine

P.S. Chewbacca is doing much better. Still limited to downstairs, he is running around when we allow him to - and is mostly back to his old self. Now the only concern is the over $4000 in bills...maybe I should be selling more things on eBay...!

Big Freakin' Spider

Went outside yesterday and got the surprise of my weekend...A giant freaking spider had built a web right outside our front door (right next to the walkway between 2 trees). Here's a photo - if you know what kind of spider it is, let me know. I'm hoping it's not poisonous. I think he's about 1-1.5 inches but in the photo, he looks larger...Kind of a big "ewwww".

Serenity

I saw this movie today and thought it was great. I was a fan of Firefly (the series the movie is based on) but you don't have to be to enjoy this flick. Probably was one of the best scifi movies I've seen in a few years (including the Star War movies - but no real surprise there). I think it will do very well this weekend and hopefully there will be a sequel. I won't ruin the movie with any spoilers, but there are some major events that happen that change everything for some characters. Anyone else seen this?
