1: Black and White or Color; how do you prefer your movies? Don't really care, though I'm not a big fan of colorization. Mostly, I like good movies, no matter B/W or color.

2: What is the one single subject that bores you to near-death?
Style shows...Probably a good cure for insomnia...

3: MP3s, CDs, Tapes or Records: No real preference for sound, but I put all things musical on my computer, then my iPod so I guess MP3s for convenience. I don't have the tools to transfer tapes or records to MP3s...so I guess my Live Aid tapes are destined to turn into dust...

4: You are handed one first class trip plane ticket to anywhere in the world and ten million dollars cash. All of this is yours provided that you leave and not tell anyone where you are going ... Ever. This includes family, friends, everyone. Would you take the money and ticket and run?
Nah...tempting as it is to disappear sometimes, I couldn't do that to my family and friends...Could I just have the money?

5: Seriously, what do you consider the world's most pressing issue now?
Shortsightedness. Not looking at the world as a group but as individual countries/religions/races/etc...

6: How would you rectify the world's most pressing issue?
Teach the hungry to grow food/catch food and give them the supplies needed, teach the illiterate to read, loan the poor money to start businesses and teach them how to succeed at these businesses (creating jobs in the process)...etc, etc...

7: You are given the chance to go back and change one thing in your life; what would that be?
I'd do many things differently, but since that's not possible, I'm pretty accepting of how things have gone...

8: You are given the chance to go back and change one event in world history, what would that be?
Probably either prevent Russia's pograms that killed 20 million people or the Holocaust that killed 10 million people

9: A night at the opera, or a night at the Grand Ole' Opry—Which do you choose?
Neither...I'd give my tickets to someone who cares about either one...I've seen opera and was entertained but barely. I was impressed with the skills of the performers, but bored with the show. And country music, I like some, but not most...

10: What is the one great unsolved crime of all time you'd like to solve?
Who killed JFK? or How much did FDR know about Pearl Harbor before the attack?

11: One famous author can come to dinner with you. Who would that be, and what would you serve for the meal?
JK Rowling, the Harry Potter author. I'm more impressed with the 6 Harry Potter books since I listened to all audiobook versions (after reading them all first). Very impressive with the way they tie together and the forshadowing that I didn't catch reading them. I don't really know what I'd serve, but it would likely be grilled, since that's my preference when the weather allows it.

12: You discover that John Lennon was right, that there is no hell below us, and above us there is only sky—what's the first immoral thing you might do to celebrate this fact?
I wouldn't change any behavior. Jews don't really believe in living for the next life. We are here now and better make the most of it NOW. If anything happens after, so be it. But I wouldn't count on it...

I don't really like to tag anyone usually, but if anyone wants to do this one, that'd be fine...

Star Wars photoshop project Part II

Awhile ago, I posted a photoshopped photo from the original Star Wars that had the blues brothers replacing Han and Luke. Recently, after finding out which sites linked to this, the creator emailed me this cool link:

Very cool and amusing. Where do people find the time to invest in this sort of thing?

7 deadly songs

Tara tagged me...she knows I'll fill out any survey she sends me or tags me for...therefore...

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre. It does not matter whether they have words, or what decade they're from. The only requirement is that they must be songs you’re really enjoying right now.

Post these instructions on your blog along with your seven song choices. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.

OK...in no particular order...

1. Worn me down by Rachael Yamagata
2. Breaking Free from High School Musical
3. In my place by Coldplay
4. Misplaced Childhood by Marillion
5. My Immortal by Evanescence
6. Breath (2 AM) by Anna Nalick
7. You're Beautiful by James Blunt

I don't usually tag, but if they are interested...go right ahead. If not, no worries:
1. kman
2. ekwisdom
3. hell, I guess everyone has already done this one...so be it.

Grey's Anatomy Fans

I know you're out there. Here's a blog written by the writers of Grey's Anatomy. I found it on Kristin's message board on the E! Online website Eonline. Pretty interesting explanations of the storylines (without giving away spoilers).

National Nick Jones Day

Courtesy of the lady (Tara) who creates very IMPORTANT holidays, since our government refuses to honor those of us who have contributed very little to society...check it out! Nick Jones Day

Thank you, Tara!

Unfortunately, I was reminded about it so late in the day that I could not properly celebrate. This is only MY fault. I was not as organized as I should have been. Therefore, I will enjoy my three day weekend (should be 4, but alas - I had already gone to work) with very little planned.

FYI, upcoming events in my life:

March 10-12, 2006 Trip to Washington DC with wife.
April 21 - 30, 2006 Trip to Boca Raton for a few days and then a week in Orlando with wife and child.

Bad news...

Got a call last night from the OBGyn that my wife's blood test had some abnormalities. This was not a big deal since the same thing happened last time. The concern was supposed to be spina bifida. So, after going to work for a little bit (I was out the door at 6:15, a little early for me), I met the wife at the doc's for an ultrasound. We were told there'd be a 1 in 200 chance so we were fairly optimistic, yet concerned...

So, the bottom line is that we had a miscarriage. The abnormality was from that. We were at about 17 weeks and the baby wasn't alive anymore. This is the third time it's happened - once before our 4 year old and about a year ago - but this was the furthest along we had achieved...and we foolishly felt pretty good about our chances...

Not sure what'll happen next, but we go back tomorrow to get some drug that will help with the procedure on Friday that takes care of everything. Don't need to get into more depth, but you can understand the mood at our house. Any ideas on what to tell the 4 year old? My wife is taking it pretty hard since she'd had to take meds and have many bloodtests in order to get this far...

Thanks for listening and all the support.
