I have a job

In case anyone was wondering, both my wife and I kept our jobs when Pfizer announced it's layoffs yesterday. The wife has a territory in Cleveland, but we are now living in Orlando and she is on medical leave due to the pregnancy (going smoothly, with only a few bumps, thanks for asking). So, when she comes off maternity leave, hopefully she can find a territory in Orlando. I, also have a job still (which was a great surprise to me). Unfortunately, many of my friends were let go and most of them were award winners who deserved better. But they will all go to other companies and do well - and I've been trying to help them when I can (with my other website, which has taken an incredible surge in traffic). Well, only one more day of work this year and then I'm done until 2007. Then in about a month the new baby should be here...I'll keep you posted...

Night Shuttle Launch

The wife and I sat outside this evening at 8:47pm and got to watch the sky light up as the shuttle took off. It was amazing as we watched the ball of fire shoot up into an arch for a few minutes. I just HAVE to watch from up close. We live about 30 miles west of Kennedy Space Center and it still looked cool. I can't wait to see it from Cocoa Beach or Merritt Island...Next time I'll take photos. This one was from Yahoo...

24 Season 5

On a brighter note, Season 5 of 24 is finally out. This gives me all of December to catch up (review) before Season 6 starts in January. I started watching 24 with Season 2 (and of course went back to watch Season 1 on DVD). This past season was probably the strongest in many ways (though I'm still pissed they did away with some of my favorite characters from the first 4 seasons). Edge of your seat stuff. Anyone else watch this show? I know Nicole does since she commented on my post way back when about a map of Jack's locations during the season...

my new toy (soon to arrive)

I just used a ton of gift cards to order this TV. It'll arrive next Thursday. On 12/18, I find out if my wife and I still have jobs. So at least I'll have a nice TV and the ability to catch up on my DVDs if I'm unemployed. They are letting a ton of folks go who have good records (like us). So anything can happen...

FYI: Samsung 46" HD LCD 1080p etc, etc...
