Tropical Storm Fay

Today, I drove into my territory and into Tropical Storm Fay. We had yesterday off as a precaution, but Orlando didn't get hit as bad as the coastal area (also known as the Space Coast since it includes the Kennedy Space Center). I drove to Melbourne today. It took me awhile since I hydro-planed on the highway and pulled of at the next exit. Finally got there and I drove around the city to get to my customers and went through some deep water. A few times, water was seeping into the car at the bottom of the door. I was lucky to get through the flooded areas. Meanwhile, some seriously heavy rain was coming down. I found out later that they had 15-21 inches of rain, depending on the area. I left the territory early since most people were not in the offices today. I'm supposed to go back there tomorrow. You can see from this radar map how the worst part of the weather was the location that I was in...

We moved almost everything out of our patio area last night so if there's high wind, it won't damage the house. So there's a large area to play that wasn't available yesterday. Kids still wearing pajamas at this point.

There was a "Pampered Pet" show at the Orlando Convention Center this weekend. They had an area for therapy dogs that they use for reading, meaning they go into libraries and schools and get the kids to read to the dogs. I guess it helps with reading because the kids have someone to read to that won't criticize and will listen. So that's what we were doing. We saw some frisbee dogs and a bunch of other rescue groups. The kids had fun...
