Unlucky Bear

This video is much more fun than most...

Another video - Mentos + Diet Coke

I did this experiment after reading about it on ksra's blog (I think) and did not take a video. Here's one I found...Just drop some mentos into diet soda and stand back...By the way, just watch the first 30 seconds or so (and turn down the volume)...

The big news...

Child number 2 is due in July. Actual due date is 7/13, but delivery will be around 7/5 due to c-section (they do those a little early). Still filling in all the family members, though some already know (as of a few days ago). But I don't think any family members read this website, so I guess I'm safe...We waited a bit to announce since we had a miscarriage about a year ago. We also had a miscarriage about a year before Child number 1 was born. So we were cautious...but doc said everything looks good and we're past 3 months...so there you go...Did you guess?

Going to Memphis...News coming soon...

I will be away from the computer until late Thursday night...I have a meeting in Memphis. I have to leave my house around 5am for a 7:30am flight. Coming soon, though...big news. How's that? A teaser...

Oh, and by the way, the big news has nothing to do with Memphis.

Abolut-ly

Stuff to ponder...

Per Tara's blog...too tired to do the link...look at the links on the right side of this page for Eclectic Spaghetti...

4 jobs I've held: Drug rep, Time Share sales, Troll Doll and stuffed animal sales, advertising agency grunt

4 movies you could watch over and over again: Shawshank Redemption, Office Space, Groundhog Day, Brotherhood of the Wolf

4 places you've lived: Sagamore Hills OH, Montville NJ, Saginaw MI, Bridgeport CT

4 TV shows you love to watch: Lost, Battlestar Galactica, 24, Veronica Mars

4 places you've been on vacation: St Martin, Grand Cayman, San Juan PR, Hawaii

4 web sites you visit daily: AOL, Yahoo, MySpace, EOnline

4 of your favorite foods: Spaghetti (with either marinara sauce or white clam sauce), Pizza (NYC style, folded in half, preferably with mushrooms), flank steak (the way I cook it - on the grill or broiled with a sauce made of ketchup and mustard mixed evenly - sounds gross but tastes great), most fruit (especially strawberries, grapes, oranges, apples)

4 places you'd rather be: living in Orlando (or other warmer climate places south of Cleveland), vacationing in Hawaii, vacationing in Greece, Doing the pub tour of London

How's that sound?

To that I'd add...

4 favorite concerts you've attended: Sting (with and without The Police), U2, Sarah McLaughlin, Bare Naked Ladies

4 favorite books: The Count of Monte Christo, The Harry Potter series (I'll count that as one), The Crystal Cave series (4 books, yet still one), The Bourne Identity

OK...that'll have to do...

Tagged...damnit

Tagged by Nicole to write 5 random facts about myself. Normally, I'd ignore the request, but Nicole is nice enough to be one of the few regulars to this blog. Therefore:

Fact #1: I did a comic strip my freshman year at Ohio State. Another student, Jeff Smith, also did a strip at the same time. His was called Thorn. It eventually became a comic book named "Bone". Bone was an amazing success. There is a collection of his strips from Ohio State called "Thorn: tales from the Lantern" (The Lantern is the school paper). I have a copy and recently found and sold another copy (I didn't want to part with my original one). I purchased it at a used book store for $200 plus tax and sold it for $735 plus shipping etc. I figure (after fees) that I made $500 in about 2 weeks. Not bad. Oh, my strip was just a silly one that never amounted to much, though I enjoyed doing it...I guess this one is a few facts, but I'll still count it as one.

Fact #2: I have run the Columbus Marathon 3 times. The first time, I didn't have a ride home to my OSU apartment, so after 23 miles, I stopped near my place. I guess that was dumb. People thought I couldn't finish it, so I ran it the next year and finished in under 4 hours. Of course, I wasn't an amazing runner, I was just intent on finishing. The third and final time was in 1989. I was at Kent State for my MBA and decided to run the race a month before since people kept telling me I couldn't do it (I was a bit out of shape - yet still 25 lbs lighter than I am now). I finished in around 4 1/2 hours and then drove back to Kent to take a midterm the next morning (got a 98!). Now, my knees are so bad, I doubt I'll do it again, though I'd love to try a 10K.

Fact #3: I used to have hair way past my shoulders. Since it's very curly, it would be even longer when wet. I think I went 8 months once without a hair cut. I just liked it that way. Now, I have it clipped every month or so. I like it short since I don't have to do anything about it (not that I did when it was long)...

Fact #4: I met my wife outside a doctor's office in Michigan when we were reps for different companies (pharmaceutical). A mutual friend had been trying to set us up and we both ignored that. We started hanging out and eventually started dating.

Fact #5: One of my favorite Disney cartoons is Treasure Planet. Most critics hated it and it did poorly at the box office, but my daughter liked it and I think we've watched it together about 30+ times. I've always liked Disney movies (before becoming a parent), but now I have an easy excuse to watch the movies, Disney Channel, etc. I'm somewhat sick of some of the princess things, but it's easy to buy her gifts...and she's due some more since she's almost 4.

How's that Nicole? Revealing enough? OK, I don't think there are enough people to tag that read this, but on the offchance that they do: tag to Sippy (can't put the link, per her instructions), Tara (of course - along with Nicole, my two best supporters), K_sra. I think that'll have to do...If they choose to ignore this tag, so be it!

Up since 5:15am, all day meeting, have to be up early for the drive to Y-town. Goodnight!

What 2005 song are you?

My fashion sense is a little whack
And my friends are just as screwy as me"
